จากการตรวจช่องปาก และภายถ่ายเอ็กซ์เรย์ พบ ซี่ฟันหน้าล่าง 1 ซี่ ฝังอยู่ในขากรรไกร และฟันกรามหลังทางด้านล่างซ้ายเอียงเข้าด้านลิ้น ทำให้ฟันไม่สบกับฟันด้านบน จึงดูขากรรไกรด้านซ้ายยุบมากกว่าด้านขวา ทำให้เมื่อกัดฟัน หรืออ้าปาก ทำให้มีลักษณะที่ไม่สมมาตร

แนะนำให้คนไข้ผ่าฟันฝังออก พยายามแก้ฟันหลังล่างด้านซ้ายให้ออกมาสบกับฟันบน มีแนวโน้มจะทำให้การกัดฟันดูสมมาตรมากกว่าลักษณะเดิม แต่ไม่น่าจะสมบูรณ์แบบ 100%

ในเคสนี้ คุณหมอแนะนำให้ใช้ยางอิลาสติกดึงฟัน เพื่อแก้ไขฟันกรามให้กลับมาในตำแหน่งที่เหมาะสม และสามารถสบกับฟันบนได้ เพื่อให้ใบหน้าด้านซ้ายสูงขึ้น ลดความไม่สมมาตร

หลังการแก้ไข ในเคสนี้ คนไข้มีอายุ ณ ตอนที่มาทำการรักษา 15 ปี ส่งผลให้การแก้ไขลักษณะการสบฟันลึก และการเคลื่อนฟันกรามให้เข้าตำแหน่งสบฟันแกติ ทำได้ค่อนข้างง่าย ตอบสนองต่อการรักษาดี และประสบความสำเร็จที่ดี สามารถลดความไม่สมมาตรของการสบฟันได้มากกว่า 60%
