เปลี่ยนฟันปลอมเก่า ให้ดูเฟรชชี่มากกว่าเดิม!

จากที่ได้เคยกล่าวไว้ในบทความก่อน เรื่องอายุการใช้งานของงานฟันปลอมถอดได้ ที่มีส่วนประกอบของฟันปลอมที่เป็นพลาสติก หรืออะคริลิก ทั้งส่วนของฐานฟันปลอม เหงือกเทียม หรือซี่ฟัน ซึ่งเนื้อของวัสดุมีความพรุน ความพรุนนี้ เป็นส่วนที่สะสมของเศษอาหารต่างๆที่เรารับประทานเข้าไป นอกจากนี้ยังมีคุณสมับติของการดูดสีและกลิ่นของอาหารด้วย ดังนั้นเมื่อใช้งานไปได้สักระยะเวลาหนึ่ง ชิ้นงานฟันปลอมที่เคยดูสวยงาม ก็จะเริ่มสีเปลี่ยนไป มีกลิ่น ซี่ฟันปลอมสึก แตกหัก หรือฟันปลอมเกิดหลวม เกิดขึ้นมาได้

โดยอายุการใช้งานฟันปลอมที่มีส่วนของพลาสติกเป็นองค์ประกอบ มักจะอยู่ที่ประมาณ 5 ปี ก็ควรได้รับการปรับเปลี่ยนเป็นชิ้นใหม่ หรือนำชิ้นเก่ามาปรับปรุงให้ดีขึ้น เช่นการเสริมฐาน การเปลี่ยนซี่ฟัน การเปลี่ยนฐานฟันปลอม เป็นต้น

As previously mentioned in an earlier article regarding the lifespan of removable dentures, dentures that contain plastic or acrylic components—including the denture base, artificial gingiva, and denture teeth—are made of materials that are inherently porous. This porosity allows food debris to accumulate within the material. In addition, these materials have the ability to absorb both color and odor from foods and beverages. As a result, after a period of use, dentures that once appeared aesthetic may begin to discolor, develop unpleasant odors, show wear or fractures of the denture teeth, or become loose.In general, removable dentures with plastic components have an average service life of approximately five years. At that point, they should either be replaced with a new prosthesis or the existing denture should be improved or refurbished. In this review, the dentist corrected an existing removable denture and fabricated a new one. In the first case, the upper denture teeth were adjusted to better harmonize with the lower lip, as the original denture teeth were too short.In the second example, the original denture had anterior teeth that were short and mismatched in color compared to the adjacent natural teeth. The dentist recommended a flexible plastic denture (Valplast) to address these issues. The new denture increased the length of the front teeth without interfering with lower lip function, ensured consistent tooth length, and corrected the color of the anterior teeth to closely match the surrounding natural teeth.
