          This case involves an upper front tooth that had previously undergone root canal treatment, but a dental crown was not placed immediately afterward. When a tooth is left in this condition for a period of time, it commonly becomes darker in color. Situations like this are frequently encountered, and dentists often need to restore such cases through multiple treatment steps.In this particular case, the front tooth showed noticeable discoloration and an uneven gum line compared to the adjacent teeth, making the tooth appear shorter. If restoration were performed at the existing gum level, the final result could look short and aesthetically unbalanced.Therefore, the dentist recommended periodontal surgery to reshape and adjust the gum tissue in order to increase the visible length of the tooth before proceeding with crown restoration, ensuring a more natural and harmonious final outcome.
